‘Careless Crime’ to screen at Olhar de Cinema

Iranian movie ‘Careless Crime’ will be screened at the Olhar de Cinema in Brazil.

The 2021 edition of the Olhar de Cinema – Curitiba International Film Festival will host the award-winning movie at the main competition section.

Shahram Mokri’s 135-minute movie was internationally premiered at the Orizzonti section of the 77th Venice Film Festival in Italy.

Going back to forty years ago, the movie’s story starts during the uprising to overthrow the Shah’s regime in Iran.

Then, protestors set fire to movie theaters as a way of showing opposition to Western culture and burned down many cinemas.

In one tragic case, a theater was set on fire with four hundred people inside and most of them were burned alive.

Now in contemporary Iran, after forty years, four individuals also decide to burn down a movie theater.

The Olhar de Cinema – Curitiba International Film Festival offers a wide and a good quality selection of independent films from around the world which have an innovative and committed character.

The 10th edition of the festival is scheduled for October 6-14, 2021.
